Student Research Day Call for Abstracts

Undergraduate and graduate students in the Faculty of Nursing are encouraged to submit abstracts by Feb. 22

Do you have research or a great project idea that you want to share? Do you want practice doing an oral presentation in a safe, yet competitive environment?

Perhaps you want feedback on your graduate work from a varied group of nursing researchers?

On March 23, 2017, the Nursing Graduate Student’s Association (NGSA) and the Faculty of Nursing Research Office are hosting the semi-annual Student Research Day.

Nursing students in both the graduate and undergraduate programs are encouraged to submit abstracts. 

There will be four categories for submission:

  • Poster presentation - Undergraduate student research
  • Poster presentation - Graduate student research – Masters Level
  • Poster presentation - Graduate student research – PhD level
  • Oral presentation 

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top competitors in each category. Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are welcome! Abstract submissions for oral presentations will be judged competitively through a blinded peer review process. All submissions will be accepted for poster presentations.

Abstracts must be submitted to ngsa@ucalgary.ca no later than 16:30 on February 22, 2017.

Abstract Guidelines

  • structured abstract
  • no more that 250 words
  • please indicate the category in which you would like to submit (undergraduate, masters, PhD or Oral) as well as the name of your supervisor in your submission.

Abstracts can include:

  • Research (proposed, in progress, or completed);
  • Innovative programs and processes;
  • Concept analyses
  • Nursing 289 projects
  • Best practices and knowledge translation.
