Profile

Carol Ewashen is an Associate Professor, former Associate Dean Graduate Programs, and current Graduate Curriculum Coordinator, Faculty of Nursing, University of Calgary. She is a clinical specialist in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing with full membership in the Canadian Group Psychotherapy Association. Dr. Ewashen is Co-Investigator on a funded research project, ATTACH (Action Team of Triadic Attachment and Child Health). Other funded scholarly projects include development and evaluation of a training program, Professional Development Mental Health and Addiction Curriculum: Preventive Practice for Professional Nurses. She has served as a Faculty of Nursing representative on two major Alberta Family Wellness Initiatives: Early Brain and Biological Development (EBBD) and Recovery form Addiction (RFA) with a current focus on accelerating innovation through design and testing of an addiction and mental health core story for youth. Dr. Ewashen was the 2012 recipient of the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA), Nursing Excellence in Education Award, and the 2015 recipient of the Faculty of Nursing Covenant Health Teaching Excellence Award.
