Profile

Linda is an Adjunct Clinical Associate with the Faculty of Nursing who has been practicing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care for over 20 years. Her first guest lecture with the Faculty of Nursing was in 1998, she has been teaching in the Philosophy and Practice in Palliative Care Nursing Elective since 2003, and she has served as preceptor and external examiner for graduate nursing students. In her CNS role, Linda has provided leadership in many initiatives, including development of expected death in the home protocols, a compassion fatigue workshop series, online palliative care learning modules, and a new rural palliative care program.  She has special interests in hope and ethics and she has recently completed a funded research project in the role of PI where web-based videoconferencing for rural palliative care consultation in the home was trialed and evaluated.
