Bachelor of Nursing - Direct Entry Route

Students entering the Bachelor of Nursing Program directly from high school follow a traditional September to April schedule. 

  • 4-year program
  • September entry only
  • September to April course schedule with May to August break

NOTE: Applicants must be entering directly from high school or be presenting no more than four half-course equivalent transferable post-secondary courses (including University of Calgary courses). Transfer students who do not qualify for the Direct Entry Route should refer to the Transfer Route admission requirements.

March 1 - Final Date to Apply

TRANSCRIPT DEADLINE:
June 1 for Transfer Applicants
January 15 for Early Admission Consideration
August 1 for High School Applicants

STANDARD (HIGH SCHOOL) ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

ADULT STUDENT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

If you are 21 or older at the commencement of the session to which you are seeking admission, but do not fully meet enrolment requirements, you may request admission as an adult (mature) student. Only applicants who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents will be considered for admission under this category. International students are not eligible for admission under this category. Acceptance under this category is always at the discretion of the faculty to which entry is sought.

Admission Requirements

  • English 30-1
  • Pure Mathematics 30 or Mathematics 30-1 or Mathematics 30-2
  • Biology 30
  • Chemistry 30

The fifth 5-credit subject is waived.

EARLY ADMISSION

Early admission offers may be made to graduating high school students who have an average of 90% or higher in the 4 required Grade 11 courses.  Further information can found here.  

ADMISSIONS AVERAGES

  • Admission averages are calculated as of the end of June for high school students.
  • Students attempting to upgrade their high school average through Spring/Summer coursework will not be considered until the following Fall Session admission cycle.

Admission will be on a competitive basis. Applicants placed on hold will be notified as early as possible and up to the end of August, as space becomes available, if the Faculty is able to offer a position.
