Christine Foran is a Registered Nurse with experience primarily as a Public Health Nurse, specializing in maternal-child and school health nursing. She has taught nursing students in community practice areas including elementary schools, the University of Calgary campus, and most recently, Alzheimer clients, through the Opening Minds Through Art (OMA) program. Her teaching approach is to expand students’ awareness of the community nurse role, facilitate students to identify their learning goals, and to develop students’ critical thinking towards expanding their reach and working to their full scope of practice.
Foran completed her Masters of Nursing degree with a focus on promoting the health of school age students by increasing their physical activity levels during the school day.
