Biography

Sarah Dewell is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Northern British Columbia. Sarah’s research explores the development of precision health through scholarship focused on nursing education, research, and practice with a focus on foundational genomic knowledge for all nurses. Sarah is also interested in curriculum innovation and evidence-based nursing education. Prior to becoming a nurse, Sarah completed a BSc in Cell Biology and Genetics and a Masters in Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia. Sarah practiced almost exclusively in adult mental health, focusing primarily on geriatric mental health in rural communities. Sarah is a member of the steering committee for the Global Genomics Nursing Alliance (G2NA) and a member of the International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG).
