Develop clinical reasoning, knowledge and skills needed to respond to the unique challenges of acute and chronic illness experienced by rural residents across the lifespan. The scope of practice and role of the rural nurse as an expert generalist will be examined in the context of assessing and managing common conditions related to cardiac, respiratory, trauma, obstetrical, end of life care, mental health and addictions. Interdisciplinary collaboration in rural settings will also be explored.
