Exploring the role of the rural nurse as a leader and change agent. Focusing on the implementation of evidence informed practice in the rural health care setting, students will examine the role of the rural nurse and the complexities of caring for rural community members. Using a social determinants of health perspective to enhance understanding of the impact of relational ethics, and geographical, economic and political variables that impact rural health care. Community assessment will be used to assist in identifying the strengths and health inequities of rural communities.
