Biography

Kayla received her H.B.Sc. in Biology and her M.Sc. in Cell and Systems Biology from the University of Toronto. She is completing her PhD in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary, where her research uses lettuce to study how plants make natural rubber. Kayla is equally passionate about teaching and learning and has worked at the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning as a lead learning technology production coach and as a research assistant for blended and online learning. She has a keen interest in identifying and implementing educational technologies that enhance the teaching and learning experience, especially in the context of accessibility. Kayla enjoys collaborating with and supporting instructors in accomplishing their pedagogical goals
