Developing your teaching dossier

A teaching dossier offers an integrated and reflective summary of your teaching philosophy, experiences, educational approaches, accomplishments, and evidence of teaching effectiveness (Seldin, Miller, & Seldin, 2010).

This micro-credential is designed to provide you with the opportunity to articulate the purpose of a teaching dossier, describe the elements that are required as a part of a teaching dossier by the University of Calgary, develop your teaching dossier, and engage with colleagues to elicit, give, and receive feedback on your teaching dossier.

Learning Goals

Upon completion of this micro-credential, participants will have the opportunity to:

Articulate

Articulate the purpose of a teaching dossier.

Describe

Describe the elements that are required as a part of a teaching dossier by the University of Calgary.

Develop

Develop a draft of your teaching dossier.

Elicit

Elicit peer feedback on your teaching dossier.

Completion Criteria

1. Create a draft teaching dossier.
2. Attend a 'Developing your Teaching Dossier' workshop to engage in eliciting, giving, and receiving peer feedback on your teaching dossier.
