Nursing Graduate Programs Service Request - For Faculty use only

This service request is to be used by faculty members only for all general requests for services related to graduate student program administration. This includes student committee set up, oral exam scheduling, student hiring, and payment requests.

Types of service requests

Student committee set up requests should be submitted as soon as the committee is finalized. We cannot go through the exam set up process until the committee is fully set up and all approvals are in place. NOTE: DN students must have their workplace mentor added to their committee, either as a committee member (if appropriate) or as a non-voting advisory member.

Oral Exam Requests must be submitted a minimum of eight weeks prior to the requested exam date.

Student Stipends (scholarships) include funding for graduate students coming from their supervisor's research funds not tied to student's employment. Stipends are paid out on the 25th of each month. Stipend requests must be submitted at least three business days prior to the payroll lockout date in order to be paid out for that month.

Student hiring (GAR/GANT) requests should be submitted a minimum of two weeks (10 business days) ahead of the position start. It is the responsibility of the student and the researcher to ensure that the required paperwork (offer letter and assignment of assistantship duties form) are returned to nursgrad@ucalgary.ca at least three business days prior to the last payroll lockout date before the position starts, to ensure the position is entered in time for the start date.
