Professors win Clawbie awards

Professors Shaun Fluker and Lisa Silver have both won in the annual law blog awards

The Canadian Law Blog Awards, a.k.a. the Clawbies, are a project started back in 2006 with the goal of highlighting great blogs published by the Canadian legal industry.

Shaun Fluker won in the "Best Bloggers on a Platform or Group Blog" category for his work on ABlawg. Readers appreciated Fluker’s “critically illuminating” admin law posts during the pandemic, noting they are “relevant, thoughtful and clear” and “have done major work in holding the government to account in using their emergency powers”. The nominations also note that “in addition to being a prolific blogger, Professor Fluker has long been an integral part of the ABlawg team, including editorial duties.”

Lisa Silver won in the "Best Blogs & Commentary" category for IdeaBlawg, which students praise it as the “most informative criminal law blog around – definitely helped me out in both evidence and criminal procedure this term” and say “it’s been a lifesaver in 1L crim and I can’t recommend it enough”.
