Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) replaces the existing Bachelor of Nursing (BN) program and provide program graduates with the background, competencies, and skills required to enter the nursing profession, as well provide students with a more integrated educational approach that supports the meaningful inclusion of developments in areas such as genomics, epigenetics, and artificial intelligence and how these scientific advances influence nursing’s disciplinary perspectives and impact nursing practice.
- For students entering the BScN directly from high school, the reduced program length is 3.25 to 3.5 years
- Students should be prepared to have clinical placements in the early morning, evening and on weekends
- Overall BScN program is still 120 credits and requires same number of clinical practice hours as BN
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN, year 1 admission) – available to applicants directly from high school and to students who have attended post-secondary but who do not meet the admission requirements for the Bachelor of Nursing (BN, year 2).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN, year 2 admission) –– the BScN (year 2 admission) is an advanced entry route for students with prior post-secondary course work who meet the BScN transfer admission requirements.
Note: There is a limited number of seats available for Year 2 admission. Students who have not already completed the prerequisite courses are advised to apply without completing additional coursework and enter through Year 1.
