Rediscover Your Creativity

If you’re feeling tired, sometimes the best way to recharge is by exploring something new. The Faculty of Nursing Creative Collective is a welcoming group where creativity is whatever you want it to be. Whether you’re into art, cooking, crafting, baking, taking a walk, or simply looking for a way to unwind, you’ll find a place here.

Our activities range from casual walks to bi-annual art shows, but it’s not just about making art—it’s about finding joy in what you love and connecting with others who appreciate the same. Whether you see yourself as creative or not, there’s no pressure or commitment—just an open invitation to discover what brings you a little bit of joy.

Curious to learn more? Reach out to Shannon Parker to see how you can join us. Your journey begins whenever you’re ready.

Witnessed: Creative Expressions of Nursing Art Show - April 11, 2023

The Faculty of Nursing held an art showcase April 11, 2023 called Witnessed: Creative Expressions of Nursing. Our hope is that we can draw from this undertaking to establish permanent and temporary art within our faculty in the Professional Faculties Building.

Sanctuary

This poem, by Ada Limón captures our experience as nurses. We are students, educators, practitioners, supporters, administrators, scientists and most of all, humans, who witness the human experience in all its glory.

Sanctuary

Suppose it’s easy to slip
into another’s green skin,
bury yourself in leaves

and wait for a breaking,
a breaking open, a breaking
out. I have, before, been

tricked into believing
I could be both an I
and the world. The great eye

of the world is both gaze
and gloss. To be swallowed
by being seen. A dream.

To be made whole
by being not a witness,
but witnessed.
