UCalgary Nursing Spark Awards

Recognizing the hard work, commitment and success of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners

Nominate them for a UCalgary Nursing Spark Award!

The UCalgary Nursing Spark Awards were launched over a decade ago through a generous donation from Covenant Health. Called the Covenant Health Faculty of Nursing Recognition Awards Program, nominations for six awards opened in January and closed in March with a celebratory lunch held during National Nursing Week in May.

The recognition program was rebranded in 2017 to the Faculty of Nursing Pursuit of Excellence Awards to align with the faculty’s strategic plan, Leading the Pursuit of Nursing Excellence [2027-2020].

To celebrate UCalgary’s strategic plan, Ahead of Tomorrow [2023 – 2030], and a new iteration of UCalgary Nursing’s strategic goals [coming in mid-2024], in 2024 the awards were renamed the UCalgary Nursing Spark Awards to honour the spirit of the university’s Start Something campaign.*

The graphic depiction of the spark symbolizes the energy, excitement and innovation of the entrepreneurial university and the connections that make up our community.
